After reading about how fantastic the Epiphone Elitist guitars are I decided to check them out. I'm looking for a Les Paul Custom and I must have read how the Epiphone is everything the Gibson is for less money.

The guitar felt like it was covered in plastic and I didn't like the neck. I thought it sounded ok but felt more like a Samick then a Gibson.

I was playing it through a friend's Vibro King. I took the guitar home and played it in succession with my two Gibson Les Pauls - an old one and a '91 Standard.

It just didn't hold up.

I have to say, I don't get it with these guitars.

The fact that they cost 1k is just silly. I mean, I just don't get it.

Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a used Gibson LPC

but it's not a gibson. Trust me, if an Elitist isn't good enough for you, the jump in quality to Gibson ain't gonna please you either. Wait 1k you sure it was an Elitist?
