Does anybody here go to places like this?

I went to this place down in Miami and I was pretty thoroughly blown the fuck away by some of the talent that I saw. Absolutely amazing.

This guy was one of the best during the night, check out this piece:

"And me, I'm about to start printin up new money, with 10 dollar bills marked with the faces of black men being hung from trees, just so when brothers buy that dimebag of weed, they'll know what it really means to be hanging with your homies, high on trees"

personally I think that if your trying to get your political views taken seriously, It shouldnt rhyme.

I know this guy who does spoken word, its very much motiviational and his live speakings are funny and every time Ive heard him speak, you leave understaning life a bit more.
Christopher Guitterez
anyone heard of him ?

Dready, are you being sarcastic? I certainly hope so.

This kind of thing is like stand up comedy that isn't funny.

Because everything changes once you try to make things sound good

Not that poetry even has to rhyme whatsoever, but you know.

Some of the artists in places like that can be, yes. It's most DEFINITELY not all rap though. Marc Marcel is not a rapper.

I love spoken word.

Find me a place in Manchester and I'll buy you a cup of tea in it .
There's only one thing we can do to thwart the plot of these albino shape-shifting lizard BITCHES!

Dammit, there are loads of places in Manchester!

*buggers off to buy myself a cup of tea*

And it's mostly not rap, you can tell the poetic difference .

It's cool, but I don't care for the topics they're speaking about.

Are you not an artist? A writer?

I am, I'm not sure what you're getting at? I appreciate the art of spoken word, I'm just not interested in what they have to say, mostly.

That being said, I'm 100% sure that some spoken word artist (spoken wordist?) is saying something relevant to my interests.

I said that because one of the pieces I linked to was just about being an artist and a writer
