What are the best strings for surf? And what are the best picks for tremolo picking. Also these strings need to take some bending because I play a lot of blues.

I think a lighter gauge would help with the tremolo picking. It's up to you for the brand.

Is there such a thing as a heavy riff with out chugging on the e string?

Would those break under bending?

I'd say a tortex 0.60mm is best for trem. in my experience and Ernie Balls are very good all round strings, don't get ones that are too thick though.
