My American Standard Jazz has a thru-body bridge, and I wanted more information on this. I heard it gave more sustain, but so far that's ALL I've heard. does anyone know a bit more on them, or have a useful website that'll give me info on them?

I've got a Through-body bridge on my guitar...

The reasoning behind the "more Sustain" is because the strings are forced into contact with the body of the guitar (At considerable weight) The transfer of vibration through the body/neck/rest of guitar should be more pronounced than say... A fix bridge.

The bridges are also more simplistic, Making it sometimes (with guitars at least) easier to tune and making it less likely that problems will arise.
