All right, this one's finally going somewhere.
For any of you who saw the last thread, I have now cut the body to the right size and am ready to go.

So, anyways,
Specs:
Alder Body
5 piece Maple|Walnut|Maple|Walnut|Maple neck.
Rosewood Fingerboard with one abalone bird inlay at the 12th fret
25.5 Scale Length
Gold Gotoh T-O-M bridge
String through - gold furreles
Gold Knobs w/ abalone top
Seymour Duncan SH-1 in the neck
Seymour Duncan SHPG-1 in the bridge
3 a side Gotoh tuners

I'm sure I missed some things in there, but whatever.

So far I've cut out the body, received 2 knobs (probably using 4), received the bridge, received the fingerboard, received the furreles and I'm awaiting the wood for the neck.

Here are a few pictures.

Mockup with feet. It was necessary.

So, I should be getting to work on the neck next weekend.
Be sure to check back.

Cheers guys.

looks good, but not diggin the flat body, maybe give it some more wood, and the neck looks a lil off center, but no bigg

Oh yeah, I just tossed the fingerboard on there as a mockup. It's not proper by any means.
And the little jut of wood there on the left side of the neck is just stuff I couldn't get rid of because of the way my band saw is. I'll get rid of it soon enough.

And I'll be carving the top actually.

Nice, this should be interesting. Looks like a good start for a first build (I don't mean anything by that, looks good in general). Something interesting to point out, your bridge... I always thought 3 of the saddles (bass side) have the flat side facing the butt end of the guitar, and the other 3 treble-side saddles have the flat side facing the neck. Probably nothing to worry about, though.

What color are you planning on doing this?

This is something I'll have to look into. Thanks for pointing it out

And even though it's just boring old alder, I think I'm gonna give it a natural finish. Tung or Tru oil perhaps?

That is a really rough job on the jigsawing of the outside of the body. But hopefully it works out goodluck!

^ Yeah, the whole thing is rough right now honestly.
All I've done is cut it out on the bandsaw, and quickly gone over it with a drum sander.
Believe me, it'll look better next weekend.

Haha yes, yes it is.
Don't worry, I won't disappoint. (hopefully)

I hope I'll have the neck wood by the weekend, I'd really like to get started on that, but if not, I'll concentrate on cleaning up the work I've done so far.

UPDATE
Nothing too special though.
Also, I've had the stuff I'm about to post done for quite a while, just haven't got around to taking pics.
Anyways, got the neck blank, did the scarf joint, and hopefully will be glueing the Fingerboard on soon and doing the taper.
Also, I'm gonna order black hardware.

Ignore the burn marks. Silly table saw.

Truss rod isn't in yet, nor is the fingerboard glued.
Haven't made THAT much progress.

And yeah, don't worry. I've cleaned up the body since then, but that little chunk beside the neck pocket is gonna be a bugger to get out since I can't get in that far with the bandsaw. The body hits the rest of the bandsaw and I can't go any further. I'll get it out eventually though.
And yeah, I was thinking a white or black. Dunno yet!

Pups, I think I'm going Duncan '59 in the neck and a Pearly Gates in the bridge. Maybe a JB though, haven't decided yet. Opinions on pups?

Yeah. Shipping ruins everything.
But I'm willing to check them out anyway. What have you got?
