I am putting in a 500K pot in a strat with a single humbucker. The diagram I'm using from Fender's site tells me that I need to use a 680pf Capacitor and a .220K Resistor. Now when I go to look for them there's more options like for the resistor 1/4 watt.. etc and on the capacitor there's different V's.

Now on a site I found:

a 220K resistor with a 680pf capacitor. Any wattage resistor (1/4 watt is fine) and any rating of cap (50v ceramic disc) is more than OK.

I just want to know the details before I take the time to put them into the guitar, and also where to buy them... online or radioshack or otherwise.

thanks!

Theres no one cap that is THE CAP for all tone controls. Ive seen as high as 6800pf to the .02 used in many guitars. You can try different values and see what you like. Radio shacks caps can be pretty limited. Might have to try online for more selection.
