Hey guys. I have some seymour duncans in my les paul and according to the wiring information, i can wire it up to get parallel wiring options. However, the only schematics i can find are for having a push-pull volume pot that would make the switch.

I was wondering if there was a way i could do the same thing, but with a three way toggle switch, the same that is used for pickup selecting. Is there any other way to do this? Or do i have to go out and buy two new volume puts that are push pull as opposed to buying just one 3 way switch. lol yes im cheap.

i believe there's a way to do it with a 5 way switch but I don't think there's any way of coil splitting with only a 3 way and no push pull vol. I'll see if I can't find the wiring info with a 5 way switch.

thanks man, i might have been throwing around terms a little haphazardly. What i want is a switch where i can switch from series/split/parallel. Which according to my wiring paper i got is possible using a DPDT that goes from on/on/on. Im just afraid that if i use the push/pull pots taht i will only get two options. Unless im wrong, i assume that the push/pulls only have the two options.

lol musicians friend has em for 14 bucks! Now all i need is the schematic on exactly how to do this. Ugh i dont want to take it to some guy to do it, cause it will cause money lol. So nobody has any experience with doing this? I suppose i could email seymour duncan. I mean they give me the option, but not the schematic on their website. Bastards

I'm pretty sure seymour duncan has a wiring diagram for series/split/parallel using on/on/on switches. I used it for the diagram for my Series/off/parallel on/off/on switches afterall.

EDIT: Yep. Its still there.

the very bottom of this page has what i want. But im confused on is what i solder the green and black ones to. Do i solder the green one to the point on my pot where the other hot wire was. and then the black on to the back of the pot? In reference i am looking at
http://www.seymourduncan.com/images/schematics/501005-110.pdf

Once i figure out where to solder that green and black wire. I should be good to go right? Im gonna start out with one three way switch and hook it up to the neck pickup. From there ill see if i want to put another one in for the bridge

okay i got it. I was confused by the fact that i was going from having black, red, white, green, and bare wires to having only a green and black. I have since looked more into it and realized that red green = one coil and black white = the other with the bare being ground. So i plug all those in accordingly to the switch according the diagram listed above, then all i have is the hot and ground. Ground you ground and the hot i put into the volume pot, the same as i would put the hot in before.

lol See i was just thrown off by the lack of all the other wires, but now it seems very simple to do. Thanks for all the help everybody. Lets see how this turns out.
