Harmonic minor and phyrgian dominant (which is a mode of harmonic minor) are the two best I can think of.

Edit: here are the two scales
Harmonic minor
E-----------------------------5-7-8-
B-----------------------5-6-9-------
G-------------------5-7-------------
D-------------6-7-9-----------------
A-------5-7-8-----------------------
E-5-7-8-----------------------------

Phrygian dominant
E-----------------------------5-6-9-
B-----------------------5-6-8-------
G-------------------6-7-------------
D-------------5-7-8-----------------
A-------5-7-8-----------------------
E-5-6-9-----------------------------

harmonic minor which is a natural minor scale w/ a #7
in a harmonic minor its: (a, b, c, d, e, f, #g)

lydian natural sixth (the second mode of harmonic minor)
b: (b, c, d, e, f, #g, a)

and hungarian minor (harmonic minor scale with a sharp fourth)
a: (a, b, c, #d, e, f, #g)

those r my favorites but try the different modes of harmonic minor like phrygian major, too

The "Middle East" uses a radically different music system that doesn't resemble ours is any way, shape, or form. You're not going to get very close with any Western scale.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

I'll also add that you shouldn't be worrying about any of this unless you have a very firm grasp on the theory behind the major scale, and know your way around the neck.

You are crazily wrong, while he is just merely wrong, including the guy who corrected you.

It is a natural 7. 1 2 b3 4 5 b6 7

What scales have a Eastern or ancient kind of sound?

or African scale?

Phrasing>note choice>rhthym>chords>scale

Work on your phrasing. Than work on your note choice (watch melodic control by marty friedman to hear an example of good note choice). Than work on your rhthym writing skills (as in the rhthym the chords/drum beat follow). Than work on what you know about harmonic devices (how you write a chord progression). After all that, than you might want to look at the scale your using.
