yeah, unless it's through the line-out/headphone output. Think of running 100 watts of power into a headphone input.

Using a microphone is the preferred method, so it shouldn't sound like crap, unless you have a really bad setup and/or microphone.

You don't have to use two, of course.

Just experiment with the location of the mic. You can try different distances from the speaker, different angles, etc.

A Shure Dynamic, not sure what model, but we use it all for vocals.

You can probably get an alright sound out of it for now. Maybe save for an sm57 or something. They are around $110AUD brand new.
