no, you can't do death metal with only a tubescreamer.

but if there is any other way you can, be sure to tell me!

No that won't get you death metal at all.
Whats your budget, you should probably look at amps that are more voiced for metal.

I'm looking to spend about $300 - $500 US.
I don't want anything to loud though.
I'm not gigging.
Is there anyway you can make the Blackheart do Metal without Mods?
#13
i haven't tried the BH, but every other 5-watter i've tried has been not aimed at metal. at all.

it might work if you use a good distortion pedal, but that's kind of a backwards way of doing it. something like a peavey valveking with a booster or eq pedal, a randall rg50tc, or if you're really lucky on price, a used peavey 5150/6505 would be a better option, i'd have said.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

dont use a distortion pedal with a tube amp, yuck. you could always look for a used peavey xxx super 40, i have the 60 watt model and it still sounds great at low volumes, but would be alot more suitable for death metal, it would still help to use the tubescreamer like i do even on a high gain amp, it tightens it up and sounds great.

I don't want like 6505 Gain btw.
I want like JCM800 Gain.
I like the Gain on a JCM800 amp model at about 5.5
I want a Chuck Schuldiner kinda sound.
He didn't use ****loads of gain from what I can tell.
#16
don't use a blackheart for death metal. it can pull of thrash w/ an OD.

you're better off buying a rolan Cube. don't buy a tube amp just to chuck a dist. pedal in front of it either, unless it's just for a smalllll fraction of your playing.

slash_edit: it's british voiced, lil too bright for death metal to sound right on it. you need something w/ darker american voicing

No way. Don't get the ISP Decimator if you decide to get this. It would be pretty pointless (as is it in most cases where people have one).

Get a turbo tubescreamer.
It has the original circuit, plus 3 other modes with different levels and methods of clipping.
Dump the decimator.
Get a Damage control 12ax7 pedal, preamp gain it what metal is built on.
If that's not enough, try new pickups for your guitar.
Also, change the stock tubes on your BH, british spec tubes may help for a better marshally tone.
...
Please do not insinuate anything sexual from that.
