for some reason * I have absolutely no clue what i did wrong*.

my Peavey 6505 head stays at a very low volume, like, it keeps that little muffled sound that you get when your post gain is turned to 0.

no matter how high i turn the post gain, the volume doesnt go up.

when the postgain hits 10, it will go up SLIGHTLY.

what did i break? = [
and how much is it looking like i will have to pay to get it fixed.

thanks for your time = ]

Check the channel volume and master volume, also check if the other channel works, check the cable, check your guitar.

ive tried just about everything.

i tried it out of a friends cab, with his guitar, did the same thing.

both channels do it, the post gain doesnt affect volume at all until it gets to like 10.
then the volume will increase a little bit.

You don't have anything in the fx loop, do you?

Good question that could cause the problem.

Also try bridging the loop with a cable, if the loop isn't working properly then this may solve the problem. I had a JCM800 with a broken effects loop, and it would act like you described unless I bridged the jacks with a cable.

Thats what it sounds like is a loop issue. My amp will do the same thing if I forget to plug in the adapter for my pedals in the loop. Its got a little volume but doesnt change when you turn up the volume. 1 of the jacks will be a shorting style if its screwed up it wont send the signal on to the power amp right.

Well, you take a 1/4 in cable, and plug one end into the effects send, and one end into the effects return.
