i am thinking of buying an attenuator but i have a few questions first. (im completly new to this attenuator stuff so don't kill me i sound stupid)

i have a fender deluxe 112 (200 watt) and i am woundering if i had an attenuator on a low level but my amp on 10 would i still get that loud buzzing sound you get when the amp is up really loud?

also which attenuator would be the best to get?

budget is $200-$600.

i am very confused on this.

200 watt fender deluxe 112?
?

Anyways, if the amp is "buzzing", you don't want an attenuator. You want a noise gate or quieter tubes.
An attenuator is for getting more power amp overdrive at lower volumes.

ya but if i have the attenuator on and my amp is on 10 am i going to get buzz because the amp is on ten or is the attenuator gonna cancle that out?

and no im not getting the attenuator for just cancling the noise at higher levels im mostly getting for the power i would be able to have (or imagine id beable to have)

It should still have some background noise, but it shouldn't be too bad.
Quieter tubes and a noise gate would help you there.

And for an attenuator, Weber MASS attenuators are highly respected.
But, good luck finding one which can handle a 200 watt amp.
If it is indeed 200 watts.
And, it's a tube amp right?

You don't need an attenuator on a solid state amp.
