Well should I learn to ready schematics or learn the parts of the amp first. Can someone steer me in the right direction?

If you dont know how to read a schematic, i would really, REALLY advise you not to make an amp. Amps are very complicated, and there is voltages running through the circuits that could easily kill you. Not to mention that to build a decent amp you have to be very good with a soldering iron and keep all wires as short as possible, which gets very difficult.

A good starting point would be modding a tube amp, you'd have to learn to read schematics and how to solder. And you can probably get your amp to the sound that you want.

Well all I'm asking is can you set me up for the future of building amps. I'm 16 I've got plenty of time to learn.
