I'm looking to see what other people are playing for 12 string acoustics. I'm seriously planning on purchasing one in the next few days and was hoping others could share their thoughts and experiences.

Currently I'm looking at the Variax Acoustic from Line 6 as they have a 12 string as one of their models.

I've seen the reviews and their lower end versions don't seem to fare well but their higher end ones seem to get good reviews. Still, it doesn't exactly have the feel of a 'true' 12 string.

If you can, look into sierra brand 12 strings - I think they only make the one model but it's quite nice for the price. Solid woods: Engelmann spruce, Ash and Mahogany if I remember correctly. The tone's bright but even and it really projects due to its size.

I've got a '75 Fender F-55-12 for sale if you're interested (PM). Beautiful guitar, beautiful sound.

This is what I have now and I LOVE it. I swear to god this thing sings. You may not end up buying it but I beg you to try it out before you buy another guitar. It became my default guitar very quickly and my 6 string feels neglected, haha it needs lovin too.

Only complaint is I had to have the action fixed cause it was way high, could have just been mine and you can have this sorted out at the store first if you choose to buy it. My other Seagull had no such problem.

I'd rather post a chat up line with an escape route in case it starts going wrong.
