I want to know what UG thinks is the better buy.

And btw, does the Crate come with the Tone Tubby speaker?

I have a Gibson Explorer. I play anything from blues, to classic rock, to metal.

I saw a picture of the V-50 on Ebay, it just has a Crate speaker.

I am also considering the Crate V3112, just wanted to throw that out there.

Go with this. You don't really need the extra 50 watts of the V50 or valveking. The V3112T has the Tone Tubby speaker so it makes it MUCH better. I wish they weren't discontinued so I could get one.

yah the crate would be the bettor amp in my opinion especially with a tone tubby.
if you need the headroom get the 50 if you want to get clippin sooner get te 30, plus its got the TT in it so id be bettor out of the box all you would need is a tube swap.
But if you ask me the thing is ready to play out of the box.

Would it seriously be loud enough for gigs? (over drums, bass and rhythm) I don't know why but I am doubting the power of the amp. It sounds killer though!
