My current amp is a crappy marshall mgfx100 half stack. The amp was ok for a beginner amp but recently broke. Right now a buddy of mine is gona give me a krank Rev head in perfect condition for like $600 bucks. I want to buy it off of him, but I cant afford the head and get a new cab at the moment. I was just wondering if the krank head would sound like total crap in the marshall cab, and if it is even worth getting. let me know what you think, any advice would be helpful.

You can get a decent amount for it from some poor, unfortunate soul.

Take that money and buy a nice 2x12 or 4x12 used.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.
