Simple answer: Danzig hates everyone in the Misfits now, making a documentary nearly impossible.

Question: Why don't you see 99% of bands in a documentary?
Journalism is just a gun. It's only got one bullet in it, but if you aim right, that's all you need. Aim it right, and you can blow a kneecap off the world.

No, no, it's not that. They're just not anarchist enough. If they were more like Crass, they would be in punk documentaries.

The Clash are in documentaries and they're not anarchists.

no, but they're socialists, which is "just as radical"

Because the Misfits don't do it for the scene.

Misfits be too cool for school!
haha but probably because they didn't look like a stereotypical punk band and more often they get pushed into the category of "shock rock" great band though listening to their stuff right now

Ok, time for the REAL answer why the Misfits are not in American Hardcore or any other somewhat popular documentary on Punk

Because Danzig and Jerry Only split the rights to all the music, merchandise, etc.

So they don't make any interviews cuz thus it would be self centered making it look like one person in the band is more important than the other, so they just agreed to not do any interviews...

same thing goes for the Dead Kennedy's
I love all forms of Rock 'n' Roll, past and NOT present
#23
Yeah Mav, since both Jerry Only and Glen Danzig are the most agreeable person on Earth.

Basically they're upset with each other and don't want to talk about it. Pure and simple. And since you didn't notice Mav the first guitarist from The Misfits was in it. He got kicked out, and he claims it's because Jerry Only wanted more control of the band.

As for the Dead Kennedys we all know Jello doesn't care much for the hardcore scene and the rest of the band has lost all credibility seeing as how they sued the song writer's songs away from him.

Just buy the damn book, it has everyone that wasn't in the movie in it.

..........furthermore there´s really no need to put the Misfits into a documentary, because they are no sign for punk, they are really close to Rock, they don´t talk about politics and make videos like Marilyn Manson, there are just parts in their music which fit

I love the misfits

I can see why someone would argue that they're not punk though

not every punk band has to talk about politics (thank god)

and if the misfits are too 'rock' to be called punk, where the hell are the dolls..

i'm not even that big of a misfits fan, but i can still see how they'd be important enough to be in a movie - the original line-up, anyway...

progenitors of an entire subgenre of horror punk.. and "bullet" is a good song

that wasn´t what I wanted to say, but they don´t sing about anything which is "punk", and movies have to be sold and punk means to the rest of the world to have certain attitudes, the misfits rather represent metal attitudes

The Dolls are ****

sorry didn´t know that......but that´s not what people here understand when they hear punk attitude or what punks here would consider as typically punk........but if it´s an american thing, then leave out the reasons I gave you
