I've been trying to figure out which guitar i want now for a couple of weeks, the schecter blackjack or hellraiser. I guess the main distinction is the pickups, do I want EMG's or the Blackouts. I've played both and I've thrown my hands up trying to decide. Let me know which one you like and why, maybe it will help me decide. Thanks!

With blackouts, the preamp alters your tone less.

I personally prefer them to EMG's for that very reason.

personally, from what ive tried, EMGs are great pickups, but ive never tried blackouts so i cant really compare the two. if there is a difference, im sure it cant be a mind blowingly huge difference, id recommend, if you really want to further enhance the pickups, an 18v mod to have more headroom for power, if you know what i mean. just my 2 cents...

I say go for the Hellraiser. The EMG's are great. And keep in mind that the pickups in the Hellraiser can be coil split, while the ones on the Blackjack can't.

not really, the blackjack has a satin neck which is so much better for feel than a painted neck as a satin neck feels more like an unfinished neck. also black outs have more calrity than EMG's and therefore would be more suited towards shred. Also, in my opinion, black outs own emgs in every aspect.. wether it be clairity gain etc.
