I need a recorder. Nothing very fancy, just enough to record songs and get said songs onto CD's. Preferably with a drum machine built in. My budget is around $1,000 (Canadian). What would UG suggest?

Also, what microphone brand/model would be best for recording guitar parts onto the aforementioned recorder?

how do you know he has a spider III? eh?

EDIT: ah i see it's on his profile... in that case, yeah, get a better amp before you start recording.

Jesus this site and de-railing threads.

Let me worry about my amp. I'm looking for recorder suggestions, not amp advice.

Welcome to UG.

I have used a presonus of some sort that produced some great results.

Shure makes good mic's i hear.

Though you are waaay better off asking this in the recording forum

Yeah, in retrospect that might have been a good idea.
