I just put in a new set of d'addario 11's yesterday, and for some reason my dad took the low e string tuning cap without me knowing. So when I tried tuning the low e string this morning, the string slipped out of the tuner. Can I replace the low e string(normally .049) with another e string from a pack of fender super bullets(.009-.042, this is an old pack before I switched to 11's)? Or does it even matter if I only have 5 strings on there(I'm a little worried about the tension)?

If the new e string is the same gauge that you want it should be fine.

Are there any other members of Lynyrd Skynyrd who are dead?

Keith richards uses 5 string guitars all the time so dont think it will hurt anything. But yea you can mix strings if you want not like there is a ford/chevy incompatabiltiy thing.
