When I turn the guitar on, there is a buzz in the sound that is not regular distortion or amp hum. It's there even with my noise gate pedal. However, if i touch the volume/tone knob or the cord going into the guitar, this stops. Does anyone know what is causing this, or how to stop it?

or you're guitar cable is bad, or you're input jack is loose.

yeah i've got the same problem. my jack keeps coming loose. how can i fix that?

add a locking washer.

to tighten after putting it on, take the plate off, and hold the inside of the jack and the outside while tightening, or you'll spin the jack and rip off the wires.
