ok so everyody knows that korn covered pink floyds another brick in the wall

so a couple months ago i was searching random **** and i ended up on a forum page where some retard was saying that korns cover was sooooo great that he thinks they should cover the entire album "The Wall"

so i was like wtf? i was thinkin to myself wtf is wrong with this guy?
now i like korn and i think they are a good band but i dont think they would be able to pull off something ass big as the wall

i started thinkin if there were any bands that could cover the whole album "The Wall" and the only band i could think of that (MIGHT!!!) be able to cover the whole album is TOOL

does anybody agree with me one this?

The Wall wasn't THAT great, to begin with, IMO.

A few good tracks, some good composition, and a lot of mediocrity.

*shrugs*

If I was going to think of any band covering an entire album, it would be something like Opeth covering Camel's self-titled album, or Mastodon covering The Melvin's "Houdini", or something like that.

idk full album covers are kind of dumb in my oppinion.

IMO, as long as the band didn't try and fellate the album to the point of making it watered down, and ACTUALLY did something innovative with it, then it would be amazing.

But that's not an arguement for here.

Ugh.

Covers that are EXACTLY like the original are useless, IMO.

Covers = Placing your personal, artistic mark on the song, and making the song your own, so to speak.

If you want to hear the original song, then listen to the original.

I definately enjoy Keenans voice, but for The Wall I just dont see it working. Nevertheless, if that album did come out I would buy it in a heartbead regardless, hahaha.

Shadows Fall did an amazing job covering Welcome to the Machine. I think they would do it justice.

tool have a way of turning songs into their own.
i have a feeling that there will be a lot of pissed off pink floyd fans when the chorus of comfortably numb is in a minor key, but i also think that tool fans will like it.

i have high hopes. tool is an excellent band, and i think they're capable of doing this thing well.

Dream Theater could do it.

I'd hate Tool to do an album like The Wall.

EDIT: I love Tool to bits. But it just wouldn't work.

dream theater blows i would never want them to do the wall
tool could but it would sound really weird with their singer

Shadows Fall did really good covers on their album Fallout From the War
OT: Dream Theater could definatly do it.Tool probably could do it pretty good as well.Idk about MJK tho

You made it sound like Tool *was* covering it.

Talk about a disappointment.

****tard. ^_^
And I mean that in the best possible way.

i could imagine another brick in the wall with a jambi style rhythm totally ****ed up. Queens of the Stone age would do it good.

anything with LaBrie's voice is destroyed when its mixed with dream theater.

i think that DT is a perfect example of how you cannot force talent. everybody in DT is an extremely talented musician, but the music just isnt very good because they arent meant to be in a band together, they all have their own directions, and so songs sound like a head on high speed collision.

tool would do this well, i think.

+1, The Wall is far too trippy of an album for Tool to do. Tool isn't a trippy band, they're a dark, moonless night looking up at the stars band.

DT did dark side? wow. that's even more of a trippy album.
