Floyd roses are no where near as hard as people make out, you just have to learn how they work. They just take time changing strings and setting up the intonation and bridge if need be.

do you play lead or rithym? because you might need 22 or 24 frets according to that. and about the whammy bar, be specific, want one or not?

a wilkinson (like in the laguna) can get a lot of abuse, but not like a floyd, altough it has all the pros on a strat trem.

the floyds can be abused, but they need care, they cant be changing tunings like in a TOM or vintage trem, but if they get well set up, they get you a lot of sounds and keep your tuning safe.

in the end, the best option is going to guitar center/sam ash/"some guys" music and try some guitars.

ABOUT THE RG'S: in this price range, i dont reccomend getting an ibanez RG with a trem. they have good necks, but you can only get it when you are shure you will have at least 300 dollars more to change the LFR and the PU's. the ESPs own in this price range, because even if the floyds are of "lesser quality" and "feel stiff", they last more then the Edge III. and the LH200 are decent PUs compared to the INF ones.

^ Okay so...

dollars = US
pounds = UK
doritos = Colbert Nation
badgers = ??? I'm stumped...

To keep this from being spam... I second avoiding guitars with trems in this price range but I'll also add avoiding LTDs below the 400 series...
