Check out the "What Should I learn to Play" Thread.

Theres also another Easy Metal songs thread.

Lots of Metallica, Sabbath, Iron Maiden... fairly easy stuff. Although it really depends on what kind of metal you want to play.

The entire Kill 'Em All album with maybe the exception of Jump In The Fire, that can be a little tricky at first.

i dont care to be honest im secure enough about the size of my penis so i dont listen to the most satanic death metal from the farthest reaches of Scandanavia,

just because you listen to Canibal Corpse doesnt make you hardcore. "ooh look this songs call I Cum Blood that is soooooooooo badass"

I listen to Scar Symmetry, I listen to Elton John get over it.

Yes, because people who like death metal from Scandinavia obviously have extremely miniscule penises.

Gotsta have a wah though or it will sound a bit silly!

Ol' Kirk and his wah addiction

As far as easy metal songs try The Trooper and Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden - they are both easy.

Most of Black Sabbath is easy.

Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth.

Here's some more recommendations:

Sixpounder - Children of Bodom (Note: This is in D Tuning. One Step down)
The Trooper - Iron Maiden
Orion - Metallica (The solos might be too hard... just switch to rhythm if they are IMO)
South of Heaven - Slayer (Eb Tuning)
I am the Black Wizard - Emperor (Or any Emperor song, really... They weren't too hard for myself when I was in my first year of playing, and they helped my technique.)
Laid to Rest/Hourglass - Lamb of God (Drop D Tuning)

Those will keep you busy for awhile! I tried to not stray too far away from Standard E.
#36
Black Sabbath (the song) is really easy.
Gear:
Ibanez GRG170DX
Behringer V-Tone GMX210

seek and destroy-metallica(you just have to be able to palm mute)
living monstrosity-death, probably some of their easiest riffs, their other stuff is much harder

Stay away from thrash metal and death metal before you know how to alternate pick. The first song I learnt to play was No More Lies by Iron Maiden, really easy melodies and rhythm guitar is a joke. Keep away from the solos though, but I guess I don't have to say that...

Of course, I don't know what you are good at. I am personally a billion times better at melodies and solos than rhythm guitar, so most of these songs are melodic songs, midtempo and with simple power chord-rhythms.

List of piss-easy songs:
Aces High, Maiden (Maybe a bit too fast)
Artifacts of the Black Rain, In Flames (Got an easy tremelo picked solo and it kicks ass to play, too)
Ausgebombt, Sodom (Four power chords through the whole song)
Blood Brothers, Maiden (the second solo is also quite easy, if you've been playing for about 5-7 months you should nail it... And it's bloody wonderful)
Bloodline, Slayer
Breaking the Law (Hell, you don't even need to know what a guitar is to play this)
Enter Sandman, Metallica
Embody the Invisible, In Flames (Just as most In Flames song, a blast to play. Might be a bit too fast)
For Whom the Bell Tolls, Metallica
Hallowed be Thy Name, Maiden (A must-know for everyone)
Holy Diver, Dio
Madhouse, Anthrax
Misery's Crown, Dark Tranquillity
Moonshield, In Flames
Seek and Destroy, Metallica
Seasons in the Abyss, Slayer (I learnt it in 15 minutes today, been playing for about a year)
Symphony of Destruction, Megadeth
You've Got Another Thing Coming, Judas Priest
Anything by Black Sabbath

In general, classic metal tends to be much easier.

And of course, Metropolis by Dream Theater. If you don't nail the instrumental section, you suck.
