IMO
its idiotic and only a stupid ass would do it....

Suicide isnt the answer to the problem
it just makes a bigger one instead...
#5
I think its stupid and illogical. Then again most people who kill themselves aren't thinking logically. Best to use your brain when your emotions get too intense, otherwise you have a good chance of ending up in a baaad position.

Is this serious!?

I'd like to see someone come in this thread and say "Oh suicide, it gets such bad press, but it his it's up points too!..." etc

Who DOESN'T dislike suicide?

If you wanna know anything about it.. George Carlin has a whole stand up album dedicated to that topic... anywhere from jumping off a bridge to hanging urself while jerkin it...

Whereas it is an act made by clouded judgement due to emotional interference... In the end it is truly a selfish thing.

What better to do than to trade all of your sorrow and emotional stress off to your friends and family through your death? Better yet, trade it off to them, ten times what it originally was to you.

Suicide = The easy way out, when no way out is needed.

i think it's pretty stupid to pass judgments on all of these people you haven't met before and whose circumstances you don't understand. when a person is alienated their entire life then they have a right to be selfish, because that's all they have, them self. and even if it is a truly selfish act, one that hurts a big amount of people, it's still none of our goddamn business because it's their life.

that's my take on it, anyway.

One could say the same thing about any selfish act.

It's my life, I can choose to rob whoever I want.

Sure, there are certain circumstances in which people don't have a whole lot more than themselves. But if they had any rationality (or chose to use it) they would realize that death is not the answer to anything. Death eliminates the possibility of happiness, even if it does eliminate the possibility of sorrow.

You've never lived life to the fullest until you've felt it all, pain, happiness, love, hate, etc... It's all part of the experience. Why end your life because you're stuck in a temporary loop of one of those things?

i do things for the lulz, suicide isn't funny, so i don't like it.

for someone who is in good health it is as said before, a truly selfish moronic thing to do. However for someone who is terminally ill, in constant pain, and the only way to bear it is to be loaded up with morphine to the point you don't even know what is going on, I see no problem with that. Death is immanent anyway why not have a moment with your family explain it to the ones that don't understand, tell everyone goodbye and go.

Yeah, ok. All those people with clinical depression, all those people who's lives are permanantly messed up, all those people who can't continue living because of the sh*t they've been through, they're all selfish. Nevermind that everybody else demands they continue living for their own personal reasons, how dare someone make a choice that you don't have to make and you haven't experienced personally?
Are all the soldiers who went to war who killed themselves because they couldn't escape the horrors they experienced selfish? What about those people with mental disorders who can't live a "normal" life, are they selfish too?
You're the one that's selfish, demanding that they continue living just because it hurts people, you never consider the pain that the other person is feeling.
There are solutions to some of the problems, and there are no solutions to some problems.

Perfectly put.

It's not like the people who actually go through with it had a rough day and decided to off themselves. Suicides are the product of severe emotional distress, to a degree I strongly doubt the vast majority of the people bitching about it have dealt with. I'm not saying it's the best course to take, but you're not in the position to judge a suicidal person until you've been in the same place.

But no one does that and makes a good name for themselves. If someone wants to cause pain to like you say, a big amount of people, without staying there to witness it, it generally rubs me the wrong way.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just being vague.

I believe suicide is a personal choice. I'm not suicidal, but if I was I sure as hell would get pissed off at someone who's trying to stop me from killing myself.
The government should not intervene if someone wants to end their own life. I know many suicidal people are hurting their families and friends more than themselves, but it's still a personal choice.

Oh whoops, I forgot to mention though:

Patient suicide (as in with a terminal disease) is alright. It doesn't call for surprising pain to the ones the victim loves, as they know the victim will die anyway and are coming to terms with it.

Suicide in the battlefield is just not even worth talking about. I would personally hate it if my father/brother died not at the hands of the enemy but at his own. I think it would kill me.

And I gave mine. It annoys me when people say things like it's a cowards way out, or people who do it are selfish, because 95% of the time that's not the case.
