Well as I approach the time where I start to get off my lazy ass and earn some money to buy my 2nd guitar, I'm wondering if I should get a used guitar. Browsing Guitar Center's used section I found some guitars at really good prices, like a used Epiphone Zakk Wylde for 200$ less than normal price.

So I'm just wondering if that would be smart to do.

Go for it. Make sure you try it first though.

Yeah I bought 2 used guitars on eBay and they are pretty awesome. You can get great deals of older instruments. Just make sure you know what you are doing. Ask questions, request detailed pics and look at the seller's rating.

With any used guitar, you should try it first. And yes, used is usually the better value. I've never bought a brand new guitar or amp in my life.

I forgot to say that I got my ibanez s470 with dimarzio breed and steves special for $400 in totally mint condition. Got my 1997 rg550 with lo pro, gold hardware and everything in top condition for a reasonable price. The are good as brand new only with few wears and cheaper.

i usually try it out before i get it man. it may look fancy and all, but it can also be a hideous guitar and play like no other.

Yeah there maybe some hidden issues that the seller won't mention so be careful.
