Currently, I connect my Texas Heat to the blues Junior using a plug I have never seen before. It was right angle, all metal, have two halves, and is relatively flat. As of now, I wrapped some electric tape around the head for insulation.
a) Is that even necessary?
b) Why does that kind of plug looks very familiar?

Yeah, like that one (except being mono), cheaper and look better (retro!)then the other alternative, too.
