I was thinking about this mix for the longest time. I wanted to make something really cohesive, but I decided that I would rather share what I've been listening to a lot lately. I've been listening to a lot of popular music from the 70's and 80's and 90's, and half of this mix has included that, the other half consisting of more current indie music to which most of us listen (with some songs that fall through the cracks, of course).

I threw cohesion to the wind. A lot of the songs are vastly different, but I can here connections between the songs whether it be style, sentiment, or other similarities. If you listen closely enough, you should be able to hear it.

Donovan to Deerhoof seemed strange, but it worked for me.

has ABBA become cool again? it seems like everyone is grooving on them lately...

^ It's because of that 'Mama Mia' stage show thing. Don't understand it myself so I hope it doesn't last (sorry).

The rest of the list looks good though, 'Little Red Corvette' is an absolute classic.

That was the first Casiotone For The Painfully Alone song I've ever heard, and I must say, it was great.

I just like the sample that Madonna uses from that song.

First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is.

That happens to be one of my favorite Donovan songs ever.

Also, my favorite My Bloody Valentine song ever is also on there.

Good job, Dorkus.

Sorry, hadn't really been paying a huge amount of attention to what Jon's been doing with these at the moment.

"The Swedes may pay taxes like socialists, but like the Republicans they do believe in free enterprise. "

Dumbest things I've heard. Ever.

About the list. Not to sure. Some of my favorite bands/artists on there, but nothing I haven't aldready heard that made me want to look into it. Well, except for maybe Casistone For The Painfully Alone, which was pretty good. Couldn't stand the ABBA track, though.

Sponj, you should be ashamed! Prince!? He's sex personified!

i trully hate prince, his music sounds so corny.. my father loves him and owns almost all his cds, so i listen to him regularly while ridding in the car with him. still, it sucks.

I resent that...

Eh, it's just that I knew all of the bands and songs for the last Mod Rock one so it wasn't really a big deal.

But I've discovered some new bands with this one.
