I was wondering if I would need a pedal board for 4 FX pedals? I thought I would, but does it matter about the quality of the pedalboard? Will it suck some of the tone from my sound?

To be honest you don't need a pedalboard anyway, it can just make things easier to transport/set-up if you have a complicated effects rig. However, if you do decide to get one that seems fine to me; it's flat and has enough room for all your pedals so why not?

I would also very much doubt that a pedal board can suck tone, it not involved in the signal chain at all

of course pedalboards can suck tone!! make sure that the wood used is of something real quality, indian rosewood is my favorite. don't forget that the power for the pedals should be tube driven.....

/end pathetic joke
