I'm on a quest to find really rare (most likely out-of-print) music from all genres. LP's are what I'm really looking for but CD only albums are OK. Albums or singles doesn't matter.

So what's the hardest music to find?

David Gilmour did an album called About Face or something. It's supposed to be pretty rare but apparently it's awful, so that doesn't help too much.

Back in the 70's I decided to take all the frets off Jaco's Bass thinking he would play worse. Man did that backfire.

A vinyl of The Instinct by Denali.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.

Try finding Western Operatic Death-Metal Rap.

an original copy of slipknot's first album (mate.feed.kill.repeat) is pretty rare i believe. also, an original pressing of the beatles' 'sgt peppers lonely hearts club band' vinyl is meant to be pretty damn rare and valuable. streets of rage 3 for the sega mega drive, oh wait we're talking about music aren't we...

It's most likely this. And by museum I meant someone is keeping a really close watch on it somewhere. Anyway this creeps me out a little.

Really? I have one called Giant Robot...

What songs are on it? Mine has "Binge and Grab (Instrumental)", "Buckethead's Toy Store", "Post Office Buddy", "Aquabot".

It was only like $10-11 dollars, but I can't find it on iTunes.

This is the dumbest question ever.

There are many millions of recordings there's only a single copy of in existence.

That's the buckethead album "Giant robot", the real expensive one is by a one-time band that he played in named "Giant robot".

Anyways, I would have to say a lot of electronic music. Rave music, Acid house, etc, etc.

Probably not much.
Rare doesn't necessarily equate to valuable.
