ive noticed alot of threads about what necks or what bridges people prefer

my question is

if you could only have an awesome neck and a mediocre bridge or an awesome bridge with a mediocre neck which would you prefer.

put simply what do you put more value on in a guitar? a comfortable neck or a comfortable bridge?

comfy neck, because you have to rest your hand on the neck when you play (or at least your thumb)
i rest my hand on my bridge, but not when im playing chords and stuff
so yeah, i value the comfort of the necks of my guitars rather than the bridges
Quotes from other UGers in your signatures that talk about how good you are suck donkey schlong.

Better neck by far, I could care less about the bridge honestly. If it's a crappy floyd, block it off. If it's a crappy stop-tail, buy locking tuners

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

better neck since its where you move mostly. i just use the bridge to rest my hand.

hmm thats weird because for me
the height of the bridge in relation to the body makes a huge difference in my speed and presicion

i never really care about the neck as long as it isnt horrible

this is apparently a good bridge.

but honestly, I'd prefer a kickass bridge pickup than a neck one... which is the current setup I have now. Bridge pickups then to pickup harmonic better from what I've noticed.

by height of bridge do you also mean action or the height of strings from the fretboard?

guitar bridge and neck, not pickups.

EDIT: oh, and bridge pickups tend to have better harmonics because they are more trebly and have more output than neck pickups.

whoopsies... if thats the case, I'd prefer a comfy and well fitting neck for me because I have smallish hands.

i am talking about the height of the bridge in relation to the body
i find it easier to alternate-pick when the bridge is further away from the body
