how would clean boost pedals work infront of a solid state. i will be using the distortion of the amp itself (B-52 LG 100A head ) but i want something to boost my solos for them to stand out a bit ... any ideas ?

thanks

they would work fine, in fact, they'd probably do better than on a valve amp for cleans

as for pedals, I use a Behringer PB100, and its cheap and made badlt, but it does the job fine.

i wouldn't go for any of their "sound tampering pedals" cos they aren't qua;ity things. i only have the boost cos it doesn't change my sound much

try the seymour duncan pickup booster.
Ibanez RG321MH (Air Classic/Tone Zone)
Fernandes Telecaster (Twang King/stock bridge pickup)
Blackstar HT-20 (Scumback 55 speaker/ Tung Sol tubes)
TC Electronic Nova Repeater
Lava Cables Clear Connect, Soar and Mini ELC

Used Boss DS-1 + Clean boost mod?

Just another cheap alternative as all the 'mod' is, is removing a few components.
