I hate .9s and I would like to put 10s on my new Jackson DK2L. I'm going up in string gauge and that means that I should loosen the springs in the cavity, correct?

Tighten them. The strings will pull harder on your bridge, so it'll pop up a bit.

Yup tighten the claw in the back like already stated. It'll all become clear to you when you start putting on the strings
