there seems to be a lack of Carlos and his self titled band around here

Do you like his work around the Woodstock era,or some of his current stuff,or do you possibly like the music he made for some adult movies?

Whats your favorite album,song etc....

He's one of my favs. I think he is a much better player and composer now than in the 70's which shows that he is a musician that is constantly learning. His tone, vibrato and phrasing are impecable IMO. I would have to say Supernatural is my fav at the moment but from the past McLaughlin & Santana, Abraxas & Amigos.

Quite an interesting fact. Well, the music would go well with that.

Europa is a great tune.

I haven't been too fond of a lot of his newer material. The artists he has chosen to work with lately haven't been ones I've been fond of. I was much more pleased with his collaborations on Supernatural than those that I have heard within the past year or two.

In terms of studio albums, anything from the debut album to Caravanserai is pure gold. Albums such as Lotus, Inner Secrets (one of my personal favorites), and Blues for Salvador are also good. Santana also has his share of fair albums, but none that I would call poor.

I fell in love with "put your lights on" a couple of months ago. I hate to say it but I don't really listen to him too much. It's quite a shame because he's really unique and original. I think I'll put on one of his albums right now.

I love the way that he controls his tone. If you watch any recent videos of him, you'll see him constantly fiddling with his tone control. I love the sounds he gets with the PRS. Although, isn't that all he plays now?

yeah i think soo...
and if im not mistaken
he was on of their first customers..
but if im not mistaking i beleive he uses a SG in the Woodstock videos.
have to double check on that though...

Yeah he has his own line of PRS guitars with his own custom PRS pickups. Not exactly sure his amp setup at the moment.

But he gets the best tone I have honestly ever heard.

And yes he is always fiddling with his volume and tone knobs on the guitar, getting an insane range of sounds.

I personally like his newer stuff (I'm not one much on instrumentals). I love the songs Put Your Lights On, Feels Like Fire (best tone ever, IMO), Blues for Salvador, Just Feel Better, Sideways, Twisted and Trinity.

^Since I have so many favs its obvious I am an avid listener :p

Caravanserai is such an awesome album. The bass playing really brings the grooves to a new level, imo.

It's fairly good. I haven't listened to it for a while, though, so I'll have to dig it out sometime.

I think Santana is one of the best if not the best guitarist ever , I mean 2 seconds into the song and you already know who is playing

gotta love europa, samba pa ti and many many more

i never really listened to him a whole lot, but from what ive heard, i like his older stuff more than the newer stuff he is putting out.
#21
I like most of his music. My favorite albums would probably be Abraxas and Caravanserai.

Even though his newer stuff isn't quite as good, it is still interesting to see the different types of musicians he works with. Wyclef, Dave Matthews, the dude from Nickelback I think, Everlast... Thats a pretty varied group.
