I'm gonna go see them with rancid and the doa september 9. SHould be sweet.

I saw them with DOA in okatoks at Elks Hall a couple weeks ago... which is good cause I don't like Rancid so I don't have to pay all that money to see DOA and WNH in some big venue.

Anyway, I can add to your list if you like...

The Jolts: Vancouver Powerpop. I did their Calgary date on their tour last week for them. Super nice fellows.

Reaction: Calgary Hardcore. Friends of mine and a great band.

Eleutheros: Edmonton Anarcho. One of my favorites

Iskra: Victoria (I think) Crust/Grind. They don't come to Calgary much, but I'll be seeing them at the Victoria anarchist bookfair in september.

The Martyr Index: Calgary Anarcho Rock n' Roll. I plug them here all the time so most people have probably heard them.

The Throwaways: Cute new Calgary Powerpop band. Really surprising everyone since they just started out and are super good.

The Hollywood Gods: Calgary Streetish Punk Rock

Knucklehead: THE Calgary Punk band. They've been around forever

The Mother****ers: Calgary Skate/Hardcore. They've been around for like 10 years

Let's Dance: Edmonton Powerpop.

There's tons more but that's all I can think of for now. Just my favorites from western canada, but mostly Calgary.
My bands pretty sweet. We pretty much dominate the scene in eastern Canada.

( No we don't )
two and a half men.
Wow that's like 3 people from red deer/lacombe on this forum.

Is it something in the water?

We've also got me, and if you count bucky_2300 who doesn't come here anymore that's 5 Albertans!

I put on shows in calgary if anyone is interested in hearing about them. http://www.myspace.com/easternblocrock
SiNglEDiGiTIQ? (my band)
we've played a grand total of 3 shows, we're totally ****ing famous.
Awesome I didn't know how good the scene is here. I'm from red deer I've been jamming with a band called active skalactic but if any of you guys from red deer wanna start a ska/punk/psychobilly/rockabilly/reggae type band let me know. Keep adding to the list. peace...

They're pretty good. I might check out one of their Calgary shows

Yeah, it might not be that good though the main singer broke his jaw a couple weeks ago, so the guy that sings on I Don't Remember will be filling in for the new songs.
Cool folk punk coming to Alberta and elsewhere...

Check it out when they come to play in your hood.

I actually have trouble classifying these guys as folk punk, but they trainhop and hitchhike around, and apparently they put on a fun show.

Catchy stuff too. I'll probably check it out.
