I just found out that some ****tard cloned my dad's credit card at a petrol station, and now someone in Canada has been taken our money. Basically, all my parents' savings have gone. I'm completely lost for words, to be honest, apparently it's happened to a few people around here. Also, the bank is unsure if we can actually get our money back. And just to not have this considered spam, does anyone have any similar stories?
#2
I wouldn't consider it spam, it's a problem.

But that's bullshit, you need to get the government involved with helping you find him because its credit card fraudery or forgery..or something like that. Anyways, it's bad for him.

I assume the canadian government would let the american's investigate it.

Gah! I really hate hearing about these things. It's usually some ugly fat chick who is living with her ugly ass boyfriend who have a bastard child. Some dickweed got my credit card number before, and tried to buy memberships to porn sites. I canceled it and we caught the bastard.

owned.

but seriously, what kind of bank would not get you your money bank if you report your card stolen?

No. I get money out at the band and spend cash instead, I have a low daily credit limit and I'm not an idiot.

I'd be pissed.

Are they covered in any way so they could get at least some of the money back?

But not before he beat it multiple times to sexy girl-on-horse action!

sorry

and i dont but my moms sister works at a bank and if i asked her she would probly have some pretty intresting stories to tell.
i know for sure she told me that one guy had his whole entire life basicaly taken away and that he was crying (lol) and that at the end of the day, there was about $50000 of moeny stloen from him.
just letting everyone know. when someone gets a bank card number they normally post it in a chat room that is dedicated to people scamming and within seconds a card will be maxed out.

Yeah, see the problem is that my Dad is leaving to America in 2 weeks, and because of all the bull**** you have to go through, chances are he doesn't have enough time to actually sort it all out, meaning we wouldn't be able to get the money back for quite a while =/

Happened to my dad too, only this person came into our home and stole his cards along with my mums purse, loose change up to £20, all our mobile phones and ****. We were all in the living room and my mum was in the kicthen and came into the living room for like 5 mins, so whoever took it was watching the house for a while. :/ scary stuff

Yeah, they'd been taking the money bit by bit every few days, so that the bank wasn't suspicious -_-

It was only yesterday when we got the bank statement, when my mum was like "Surely we haven't taken so much money out..."

That sucks, but try not to worry. Chances are your parents will get their money back. It happened to us a while back, someone got my father's credit card number (somehow) and bought a huge load of stuff, TVs and shi. We only found out when the bank rang us to make sure nobody was stealing it, which of course they were. Got all the money back, though.

Usually, your bank holds you responsible up to 50$. I'm pretty sure you will get your money back. I know several people to whom this kind of situation happened.
