When I play, chords are like real loud, and my single notes are soft. Is there anything that can balance it out (make loud notes softer, soft notes louder), to make them equal?

And if there is, what would be a good one? And how much do they cost?

Thanks.

What's a compressor?

It's a stompbox that evens out the volume of notes and such, although too much of it will kill the dynamics in your playing.

Essentially, I think it would be wise to practice either picking your notes harder, strumming chords softer, or getting quick with the volume knob or pedal.
