I wonder if this has ever happened to anyone, the a string on my guitar didn't break but got stretched out like a spring. The guitar is a Ibanez with a basic tremolo bar that I rarely use, the strings are D'Addario EXL110 that I put on about three months ago.

That's why then.
3 months is a long time to keep strings on a guitar, unless they're elixirs.

breaking, stretching out.. it's all part of being a guitarstring

Happens to my classical and flamenco guitars after awhile. I've left strings on my electric for about a year, and the acoustic had them on for about...probably around 25 (it was my dad's) without ever having that happen.

Yes, it happens. It did break though. The core snapped and the winding held it together and got stretched out.

Get new strings.
