Hi everyone,
I was customizing my guitar and I have a Floyd rose in it. The neck is not compatible for it, but the body is. I was wondering if any brand would make any type of locking nut that fit into the slot made by the regular nut instead of having to get a whole new neck. I can't find it anywhere on the interweb. Please help.

So that will fit into the area where the regular nut was and also keep the guitar from going out of tune?

No the roller nut wont keep the tuning like a locking nut. Strats have the little narrow slot so nothing like a drop in for those. Maybe for a gibson style. But never seen one.

I don't have a whole in my neck at all, it just has like a step, its not like a strat. Would there be anything that would fit on that?

You could try the locking nut that is used with the Super Vee trem system, It fits right into a normal strat stlye nut slot; However it is very expensive (99$!!!) and by the looks of it, if you've got a strat style truss rod adjustment at the headstock then once its on you can no longer adjust the truss.

EDIT: just saw your post above saying it wasn't strat style, Is your nut like this??

Does your guitar have locking tuners?

Without them, a roller nut won't keep your guitar in tune if you use the FR, I believe.

Chrism, my head does look like that, but I think the vee is a little out of my price range. Thank you very much for the idea though.

Fair enough; It wouldn't fit your guitar anway as you have a Gibson style nut lol.

Erm I suppose the only other thing I can think of is a Kahler Locking nut; they're less expensive but I've heard mixed opinions on them. They look like this:

They are $34 from here http://www.dguitarparts.com/nuts.htm but you can probably find cheaper as thats the first link I found.

So this locking nut would go behind my normal nut? And can I use a normal locking nut to do this? And also, if you have any free time could you try and find some that are cheaper for me, I can't find guitar stuff online Thank you so much
P.S. Would I be able to adjust my truss rod with this on if I get one?
