ok so i got starwars knights of the old republic 2 sith lords and when i try to play the game, it says my graphics card drivers are outdate, first wat boggles me is that this new comptuer is a month and the graphics card is a 512 mb nivia sweet thang. sooo i go and update it and it seems like its updated but when i try to play it, it does the same thing. i updated it on the nividia webstie also.

are you running Vista? Try using compatibility mode, as Vista is known for having driver issues with software that wasn't designed specifically for Vista.

First of all...

Chill out...
Write in English...
Nobody has any idea what the hell a '512 mb nivia sweet thang' is.

Nvidia, as I'm sure you meant...has many different cards that have 512 megs of memory...If you updated your drivers correctly, than its obviously not a driver issue.

"New" computers have out of date drivers by the time they are shipped very often, so its not ridiculous that this was the case.

Disregard the NVIDIA drivers and get drivers straight from the video card manufacturer's website. Mine was EVGA, idk what yours was.
And please name your video card while you're at it. You could have a 5200FX with 512MB for all I know

We need specs. Go to the start menu, click "run" and type in "dxdiag." The display tab will show your graphics card name and the current installed driver. It would also be helpful to list some other specs such as OS and CPU type. (All in dxdiag tool)

I'm assuming you've got Windows Vista 64-bit because of your 4gbs of RAM. Anyways, there's the latest driver for your video card.

is no one going to help me?!

No, you're annoying. Go back to playing Scorched Earth, Jetman or something less graphically challenging for your computer.

It's not called a "nVidia 512MB sweet thang". You need to be specific. Once you find out what it is, go to the nVidia site. There will be a section where you tell it your card, and it will provide a link to the drivers.

ok guys, im sorry. i ment graphics card. i dont mean to be a douche. im just mad cause this happend with some other games that i paid for... sorry -.-
#18
No. You are missing the point. 512MB doesn't tell us what card it is.

That is only for the GTX series. This is the correct one: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html. The link to his computer says he has a 8600GS.

and like I said, use compatibility mode, sometimes you get issues like that for older games because they weren't designed to run on Vista.

The GS series is one step below the GT series, right? I have an 8600GT, I didn't even know there was an 8600GS.

do you have msn or something, walk me through it cause i have no clue how to run compatability mode.
i already downlaoded the update, twice. and the second time it asked if it wanted me to replace the exact same file from the first update so its obviously updated

on the EXE file for the game right click>properties, there should be a tab for compatibility check the box that says run in compatibility mode for: then sect Windows XP from the drop down menu

No you don't...

installing porno games and uninstalling them or hiding them using encryption software isn't knowing alot about computers, try using linux everyday on a daily basis that will put some hair around your balls. And I don't mean easy fedora core or something like that use gentoo or command line only.
#30
well..... i know alot but not as much about code..... lol i know im only in grade 10 so im not exactly pro with code or the ins and outs of vista... cause this is my first vista computer and its making me mad. but lets stay on track. i saw someone had the exact same problem with the exact same card. im probly going to sell my game to one of my friends who has xp.

if you don't know how to run something in compatibility mode or how to resolve driver issues, then you don't know a lot about computers.

actually i do, i did it and its still not working, can you read my post up above. and i uninstalled it cause ive given up on it cause 75% if people who bought this game are getting the same problem. appearntly if you get a .ddl extension from the first game and repalce with the one in the second kotr it will fix it.
#33
yeah I've heard of that too, you'd think the makers of the game would have released a patch to fix that by now, considering how long it's been on the market.
