Im going to the portland guitar center on friday, and I am trying out guitars for my next new guitars, and I was looking for some suggestions of a good higher quality guitar (up to about $1500)
I am looking for something with a floyd rose (must have) 24 frets, and an h/h or h/s/h set up of some sort, but anyways what guitars/brands should I try out?
ps, I am NOT interested in an Ibanez, period

Jackson Soloists, but I'm pretty sure they only come in HSS configurations, may be wrong about that though.

Nope, the SL2H and SLSMG are HH. And the SL3 has Hot Rails, which are essentially humbuckers.

Also, for $1500 you could build yourself a very nice Carvin.
