As with most other new "indie" bassists, he's using a Ricky 4003.

watched some of their vids.....

his ric doesnt look like a 4003.

EDIT: i just checked ric's site.... and looked at all their models, and i didnt find one that looked anything like that.

maybe its not a ric?

and if it is a 4003...... it has a diff pickup configuration.

his bass has 2 of the neck style pickups from a 4003.

just watched another vid.

and im not sure if its a ric at all.

the headstock doesnt have that little curl on top that all rics have......

hrmm...

ric copy maybe?

I'm sure I've seen him use one before.

EDIT: Ah yeah, I see which one you mean, not sure what model that is.

I think you need to stop caring what people think about it. I stayed home all day today and masturbated like 5 times. Fucking blast.

There was nothing ironic there...

Then I don't know what irony is.
And having googled the Kustom, it probably is what he uses.

yeh, thats what it is.

still think its a copy of the 4005 tho.

The Ric:

The Kustom:

A copy? Not at all. Inspired by the 4005? Definitely.

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..

The Kustom bass is just the Kustom guitar body and pickups but with a short scale bass neck and bridge. I'd say it was inspired by the Rickenbacker 381 or similar.

Oh the irony

Tell me about it, I save for 2 years, only to end up with "the Klaxons bass", ah well, still can't touch the tone, or the looks, or the feel.

Really? The bodies don't look the same at all. The bass' looks taller, plus the horns are more staggered. Also, the bass appears to have 4 pickup magnets while the guitar has a lot more.
