I bought this electric guitar today at a pawn shop close to where I live.
I payed $200 for it. The cute lady there played it for me and it sounded pretty good.
I don't know anything about it because I am just learning how to play.
I sent an email to a so called expert and all he said was that it made in 2003 and it was entry level. He said that "he doesn't handle anything entry level".
Hmm, big shot! I don't have money to spend on a 4,000 dollar guitar!

The label on the headstock says:
Ibanez RG SERIES

RG 320 FM
C03057907

What kind of electric guitar is this? Did I pay too much?
Is it any good or just firewood?

That seems like a great price to me! It's not even really an entry level guitar. Not usually what people have for a first guitar.

Looks like a great buy to me for $200. My cousin has a similar model RG (one or two rungs down the ladder from yours, no flame top, fender style bridge). He got his for $200-$250 in '05. It plays beautifully.

Its basswood under the maple top no?

Crazy! It's like a mix between my transparent amber Les Paul and my RG350DX.

oh; as for it being any good. The edge III on my guitar is nearly toast. The blades are still fine; it's everything else that seems to be falling apart. I bought the guitar December '07.

It maybe a full maple body like mine,I know some years did. My RX was only made 1 year with a maple body.
It's a 2003 made by the Cort factory, same factory that made mine.

Good deal for $200, but you may want to block that bridge.

How do I go about doing that T!AN?
#9
I didn't know they made solid maple RG's.

You'd block a FR just like a fender style bridge(wedge a little chunk of wood between the block of the trem that protrudes into the body and the body itself), or you can block it on both sides if you feel the need.

Non entry level guitars cost around $600 not $4000. Gibson les pauls don't even cost $4000 lol.

But you got a good starting guitar there. That guitar probably sells for around $350 at a music store used.

You are going to have a hard time with that floyd rose though, they are frustrating at first.

Thanks for the compliments! Uh, I wonder how I would fix that chip damage at the bottem of my axe? I don't know, it's such a shame to see a shiny guitar and a defrct at the bottem from the last owner that dropped it. Who knows right? Maybe the pawn shop did it?

Also, I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but my first guitar was a real cheap Hammer slamer PAC3. I got it for $80 at the same shop. I bought My Ibanez RG and I decided to give the Hammer Slammer PAC3 to my little brother, who is turning 12 years old today.
I thought I would go 50/50 with our mother. I supply the axe, she supplies the AMP and cord.

Yeah that's it, Ibanez RG320FM, they were really nice, I had the privalege to play one for a while, the only thing is the Edge III, but that can be blocked.

an rg 320 isn't really entry level, my rg was £360.
the entry level ones are the GRGs, even those play pretty good.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

The Edge Pro II is meh, but it stays in tune much better than the EIII, since the knife edges are heat treated. I think.

Well after going thru alot of those price & spec lists they didn't,they did make a few mahogany models though. Seems they kept the maple for the higher end RX series, mine being the last model made with a maple body from what I'm reading.

Every time I see someones guitar, it is shiny and clean. Totally mint. Is it okay to have a dinged up axe? There is a chip on the bottem and fine scratches in the finish. I just put a tiny ding in the headstock today by bumping it into a shelf full of junk! I was ****in pissed that I did that!
#27
Dirt and fingerprints can easily be removed by a guitar cleaner kit but ding and scratches...Get used to them. Think of them as what give your guitar it own character.

And yep... I know how hurtful the first scratches were.

$200 for me is enough to have a pretty lady plays it :P

No, they are not the original pups.

I have the same exact guitar, seriously, same god damn one. I got mine for 250 with a hardshell case, and it was in perfect condition, I MEAN PERFECT!!!! nothing wrong with it, other then the Edge Trem. But i played it, i loved it, it's a little on the heavy side, but the pictures do not show the true beauty of the maple top, And the original pups used in the factory models where the V2 and V3 or something like that, it was the same pickups used in Ibanez's mid class guitars, This bad boy was made about 6 or 5 years ago, and is no longer available, and you guys are right, hard to find an Ibanez that looks like this. It is a pretty nice guitar for the price, off the shelf new it was tagged as 500, I still have the original tags. But to who ever bought this guitar, is you want to know anything about this guitar, i got you covered man, just let me know if you have any questions. Also, your volume knob is suppose to be black, AllParts.com will sell you a replacement. thats if your going for the real look. as for the chip at the bottom, it's going to be extremely hard to match the body paint, so just try not to let that chip spread.

EDIT: I am also looking to sell mine, cause i ave no use for it now that i have my ESP. So anyone interested in a guitar like that in great shape, let me know.
