hey guys I've decided to create my own Rickenbacker 4003 style bass and I was wondering where to start, as in where would you recommend to get wood etc. I will post more as the build moves along

well I hope to make it nearly identical in shape but idk hardware wise such as pick-ups

Ricks have a very unique tone, I respect you if you can duplicate it.

try warmoth.com, they only have bolt on setups though...

I guess I'm kind of like a hippie. I'm anti-war, do drugs, and like communism.
Your not a hippie, just a ****ing moron.

Well neck through is the Rick thing really. It's obviously up to you...I'm just curious.

I'm aware that you're more after the look than the tone (which is no bad thing)

go to your local lumber yard and look in the cut off bins, dont fall into stewmac/warmoth/ebay "body blank" and "neck blank" BS.

this, but instead of lumber mill, try a place where they have handmade furniture so you can get higher quality wood
