I am in search for an acoustic-electric guitar with good tone and sound when plugged into an amp or not. I play all types of rock and have played for 4 or 5 years. I play all types of rock and would prefer a cutaway. I really would like a black or dark colored one. Any suggestions around $450-750/800

Avoid Ibanez acoustic guitars like the plague. Horrible quality control. Just avoid them.

The Takamine should be quite a nice guitar. I would suggest that you look into an Epiphone Masterbilt series guitar. I played one about two weeks ago. Great guitar. It gives other brands some serious competition. The Guild GAD is also very good and within your price range.

- Art & Lutherie Cedar CW (SOLD! )
- Martin D-16RGT w/ LR Baggs M1 Active Soundhole Pickup
- Seagull 25th Anniversary Flame Maple w/ LR Baggs Micro EQ
