I write lyrics for my band and they all say I'm good at it, but I'd like some other comments on my writing.

This song's supposed to be a fictionous gang story about a normal guy going to work in the morning and doing his day job all day knowing that at the end of the day he'd have to kill someone. This is my favorite thing I've ever written, but the story is hidden pretty well. You can ignore the verse and chorus parts.

verse:
the city creeps so slowly
and the streetlights feel so lonely
the streets feel calm and satisfied
but the kids can't feel the same

this is a result of growing older
a monster screaming from either shoulder
enjoy this while it lasts
this next breath is one you'll never get back

if this is a bind for peace
then we'll give it our everything
but if less is more
than nothing is everything

chorus:
storm clouds are rolling in
and we're searching through the static once again
safety's a secret
and corporate thoughts are promises x2

verse 2:
the city streets so lonely
and the streetlights they are glowing
the streets are safe and confident
but around the corner is not the same

we've been down this road a thousand times before
who knew this time would be any different
the same routine has grown out of me
and life's become more interesting

if this is a bind for peace
then we'll give it our everything
but if less is more
than nothing is everything

chorus x2

you took a wrong turn on the freeway
and it took you to a place you had never been before
you found your reflection in a broken piece of glass
when electrical sparks turned your world inside out

Amazing!

Excellent word choice throughout, it really sets the dismale mood of the song. Your very poetic in your verses. I'm not too fond of the chorus myself, but it does fit the song.

if this is a bind for peace
then we'll give it our everything
but if less is more
than nothing is everything

Probably the best line in the song

Wow! Rock on dude! This song has some great verses! I, like 3rdActguitarist, am not real big on the chorus, but man, great song!
