I have an old Samick Strat that I want to turn into a project guitar. Right now I need to fix the input jack and a few other things on it but I was wondering how the Super Vee tremolo system compares to a Floyd Rose. Can you pull back on the Super Vee? Does it stay in tune better than a Floyd?

you can't pull back on a super vee, due to no where for the bridge to go

That's what I was thought I saw a video and the guy demonstrating it said you could pull back, but when they showed it close up sitting flat against the body my hopes started to go down a bit.

well, it is pretty much a vintage trem, with more dive, so you can pull up but more as a vibrato.

You can indeed pull back. You can set the thing up to pull up as far as 1.5 tones. There are guys who have done it before. That is why they include a shim for the neck, to give it an angle so you can set the bridge to pull up as well.

Ah, ok. Thanks

EDIT: forsaknazrael, Thank you!! I'm gonna go try that once I get some new strings later.
