i just got my ts9, and i tried using it to boost the overdrive channel of my traynor YCS50. it did indeed boost it, but not by much. then i used it as an overdrive on my clean channel, and it had tons more gain then the 1st channel. am i boosting wrong? i put the level up, and the drive and tone all the way down.

well, a clean boost alone won't give you a massive gain boost.
i'm fairly sure that's normal, yeah. if you need more gain, add some of the pedal's.
#7
Yea mess with the gain on the pedal. I like to keep the volume on my ts9 so it doesnt get louder when you turn it on and use the gain for OD.
#8
You don't need to have the tone control right the way down, start with it at halfway and then tweak it to taste.

If you're using a lot of gain on the amp already, then the boost won't do as much. I found that on my mate's Rockerverb when I told him to use an SD1 to boost himself up for solos, until we dialled in some of the pedal's gain it didn't change much at all since he was running the amp with the gain dimed.
A dwarf might hear you. What then?

Don't know much about that amp, but run it through the effects loop.

that's not a particularly good idea - you want to run run gain boosters before the preamp.
Actually called Mark!

Accually, I think it all depends on what you're using it for.

A good point, putting it in the effects loop is a good idea.

If you want it to sound rubbish.

Don't worry, you don't actually want to put it in the effects loop anyways. That'll only make it sound worse.

You mean the most overpriced battery there is? Ugh, they are such a ripoff. And the $1 ones don't last at all. Anyways...

Get a power adapter. It'll pay for itself quite quickly.
