so ive just finished school and have ALOT of spare time on my hands, so i was thinking ill use this time to improve my lead playing/improvising! yay

so.. I was wondering if anyone would like to suggest some, interesting, fun solos!
id call my self an intermediate player, (2 and a half years experience), and genres not important!

thanks!

Any solo from a Children of Bodom song. They're really quick and technical. Lots of fun to play. I'm not very good at them but they're challenging to learn and fun to play once you get them.

The solos in Orion-Metallica are really fun, you can even try the bass solo in it for the hell of it.

I just got the ultimate 'Woman Tone' today! HUZZAH!

Anyways, anyone thought about learning some slide, and then getting some most exellent blues down.

That'll kill time.

Heh I can get quite a good woman tone from my strat as long as I crank my amp.

Oh and TS,

How about.. Soul Stripper by ACDC. 3 solos but the first one is just incredible. Total classic.

I use my Les Paul copy, and it nails it. My dad was like, 'did Clapton ever play a solo like that?'

And with the AC/DC, how 'bout Whole Lotta Rosie or Riff Raff?

If you're an advanced player you should check out Holiday by Green Day... dont give you're hopes up, that solo is almost impossible man, two years I've been trying to learn that beauty....

And yes, Im totally lieing

lmao how misinformed you are if you think synyster gates is capable of writing the best solo ever.

i meen really come on. get listening to something other than commercial music and then you might really how silly you sound.
#30
Commercial music?

All i know is that it's good music.

And it's a pretty good, emotional solo. Maybe not the best, but definitely right up there with the other classic solos.

And Synsyster is a fairly talented metal guitarist and a professional trained jazz guitarist.

Hells yeah to Comfortably Numb, I was just practicing that one. Couldn't agree more, it is such a moving, powerful solo.

Jimi's solo in Hey Joe is great, also love the solo in Sunshine of your Love and Page's Black Dog solo is about as fun a solo as you can play.

really? for me the last ones the easiest and the first one i learned, but yea COB solos are fun, they are really challenging, also look at Kirk Hammett solos, for more challenging ones look at his Killemall and Ride the Lightning solos which require a decent alt picking technique. but if you want really easy look at his solos on Welcome home sanitarium and the unfogiven. pretty easy ****.
