I`m learning a particular tab and on one section it shows a string played open then next to this it shows the same open symbal in brackets, (0) can anyone tell me what this means or is there a section somewhere that explains al the symbals used in tabs ,thanks for looking

No, it mean to let the note ring out, sometimes to show let ring on a tab is ~, most tabs use ~ for let ring.

EGGEDIT: Besides, if its a half decent tab, it should tell you what each symbol means somewhere, a key for each symbol to tell you what it means.

At the end of the tab it does have a key to most of the symbals just not this one, thanks for all the replies
